Founder Diana E. James

For many students the hours after school can be the most vulnerable time of the day.
When Diana E. James saw firsthand the challenges the young people face when the school day ends,
she wanted to do something to help the youth in her community.
This led her to establish DJ's Training Facility and Afterschool.

The mission of DJ's Training Facility and Afterschool
is to provide a safe, supportive, and enriching after-school environment that nurtures academic
achievement personal growth, and positive character building in youth through mentorship, educational enrichment,
and community parterships, we strive to empower students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need
to succeed in school and in life.

The vision of DJ's Training Facility and Afterschool is to create opportunities for children to discover their strength
and to help shape them into responsible, confident, and compassionate citizens.

What began as a small initiative serving a handful of students has grown into a program that supports children
from Pre-Kindergarten through elementary grades providing tutoring, mentorship, transportation, healthy snacks,
and hands-on educational activities such as environmental awareness, lifeskills, and sustainability programs.

Ms. James believe that by investing in our youth today, we are helping to build a stronger, healthier, and more
resilient community for tomorrow.
